Switzerland doesn't just offer breathtaking alpine beauty, such as the Jungfrau Region (Grindelwald). In addition to traditional top ski resorts such as Verbier, pristine nature and idyllic winter sport resorts distinguish the land of cantons. Families are well provided for here, and are greeted with the famous Swiss hospitality.

Bernese Oberland:
Numerous 4,000 m mountains, idyllic villages, modern lift systems and last but not least famous winter sport resorts including Grindelwald or Meiringen-Hasliberg guarantee a fine ski holiday! In addition to panoramas of the Breinz and Thun lakes, spectacular panoramas of the icy highlands and the world-famous peaks, e.g. Aletsch glacier or Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau can be enjoyed every day!

Graubünden:
The largest of the Swiss cantons presents itself as very versatile: varied ski areas, such as Flims-Laax-Falera, numerous spa facilities, world-famous health and ski resorts like Davos, St. Moritz or Samnaun, combined with first-class Swiss cuisine! It is not in vain that celebrities from all over the world come here year after year to enjoy the perfect winter holiday.

Wallis and Western Switzerland:
Wallis – a versatile winter paradise! Imposing backdrops of peaks, ice and show: the highest mountains in Switzerland, crowned by the Matterhorn, stand here. The largest alpine glaciers, among them the Aletsch glacier, and impressive ski regions such as 4 Vallées, Saas-Fee und Les Portes de Soleil . Deep snowy forests under a brilliant winter blue and cosy, old wooden houses round off the breathtaking scenery.

Central Switzerland:
Central Switzerland stretches over five cantons - and the winter sports regions, stretching over rocky and icy highlands to the far hill country, are correspondingly diverse. The ski area Engelberg is located in the middle of the high Swiss Alps and is characterised by the imposing peak of the Titlis, which entices skiers and boarders from all corners of the world!

Food & Drink

The Swiss boast a great tradition of sweets, confectionaries, and chocolate production. Inhabitants of the German-speaking part of Switzerland prefer milk chocolate, whereas the French-speaking part of Switzerland prefer dark chocolate. Traditionally, chocolate in Switzerland is formed in the shape of a bar.

The Swiss also enjoy a large selection of bread - even small bakeries normally offer around a dozen different kinds. The Italian and French-speaking Swiss eat a lot of white bread; the German-speaking Swiss tend to go for brown bread.

Of course, cheese is an important part of Swiss cuisine. The favourite cheese is Gruyère from the Waadtländer Alps, closely followed by Emmentaler, with its large holes. French-speaking Switzerland is home to cheese fondue (Waadtland) and raclette (Wallis), which are not just popular in Switzerland.
