Skiing Kaprun - glacier skiing in Salzburger Land!

The Europe Sport Region is one of the most well-known and important holiday regions in all of Austria. It's situated in the middle of the wonderful Salzburger Land, surrounded by the peaks of the Kitzsteinhorn ski area (3,203 m), Schmitenhöhe (2,000 m) and Maiskogel (1,675 m). Hohen Tauern is integrated in the Europe Sport Region for total winter fun. The main resort, Zell, is romantically situated on the lake and Kaprun, 7 km away, offers everything needed for a perfect winter holiday. In addition to the varied - and through the Kitzsteinhorn glacier - very snow-secure pistes, the region also offers guests an ample leisure and après ski programme. Kaprun - glacier skiing in Salzburger Land!

Kaprun (786 m) is located at the foot of the Kitzsteinhorn, approx. 7 km from Zell am See. The area first became well known through the establishment of the first glacial ski area in Austria. The pretty houses lie in the shadow of the Kaprun Castle, which is considered to be the town's landmark. The touristic opportunities are large: 13 km cleared winter hiking trails, 18 kilometres of cross-country trails and unique landscape are waiting to be discovered. Fun and action can be found in the indoor pool, at the bowling alley or whilst paragliding. Those seeking rest can also relax in the sauna.
