The Europe Sport Region is one of the most well-known and important holiday regions in all of Austria. It's situated in the middle of the wonderful Salzburger Land, surrounded by the peaks of the Kitzsteinhorn ski area (3,203 m), Schmitenhöhe (2,000 m) and Maiskogel (1,675 m). At the edge of the Hohe Tauern National park, in the southern part of the Salzburger Land, Bruck lies on the Großglockner road between Lake Zeller and the Großglockner massif. Very close by is the sporting centre of Kaprun. The ideal winter sports village is distinguished by its close proximity to the international Europa Sport Region Zell am See/Kaprun. The village became well-known as the exit point of the Großglockner high alpine road, which finds its point of departure here with kilometre "0". Further sights to see are the Kitzsteinhorn with the glacial ski area and the Tauernkraftwerke hydro-electric plants in Kaprun.

The Europe Sport Region in the Salzburger Land is the paragon of a diverse skiing holiday for winter sports fans. With the three ski areas Kitzsteinhorn, Maiskogel and Schmittenhöhe you have the choice between 134.5 kilometres of piste and 56 modern lift systems. Pros and beginners feel equally at ease here: The Maiskogel ski area is especially suited for families, with a large proportion of wide and blue pistes. At the Mailkogelköpfl lift you'll also find the longest run in the ski region, which is 7 km long. The Kitzsteinhorn (3,029 m) looks after snow security and tempts mainly beginners and ski fans looking for smooth slopes with its easy and medium-level pistes. Pros usually let loose on the Schmittenhöhe, where the 4 km long Trass run counts as the most difficult in the Europa Sport Region. Freeriders can let off steam here on the mogul pistes and the free ski terrain under the Sonnkogel gondola.
The "Salzburger Super Ski Card" enables you to have access to over 2,200 kilometres of piste in 23 ski regions, such as the Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang area, the Kitzbühel ski region or the Salzburger Sportwelt.
