The area around Matrei is bordered by the idyllic backdrop of the two largest mountains in Austria and the natural landscape of the Hohe Tauern National Park. The Großglockner (3,798 m) and Großvenediger (3.674 m) sit enthroned over the region - mountain scenery which is difficult to surpass! Through the integration of the two ski areas, pure enjoyment is offered to skiers on 110 km of piste. All of this is offered away from mass tourism and hype in one of the snow sure areas in the Alps. In total, 16 lifts carry you comfortably up to an altitude of 2,621 m, from where you can see a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains. Alongside the fun on skis, you can toboggan through the winter landscape or relax in the indoor pool. And at the end of a long day's skiing, you can let yourself be spoilt with regional specialities in restaurants and guest houses! Prägraten - no ordinary holiday!
The breathtaking mountain landscape of the resort Prägraten, which lies at the foot of Großvenediger, is hard to surpass. The highlight of the week here will most likely be the time spent on the mountains and in nature, such as a ski tour. The closeness to Italy can definitely be felt (and tasted) in the culinary department. Numerous huts and restaurants act as cosy retreats and are very appealing with their regional specialties. Alongside classic winter sports, guests are offered much more: three toboggan runs, a fun park, great cross-country trails, an ice-rink, as well as thermal springs and baths provide a welcome change.
